Head of our Corporate Finance team, Alison Watts, has been made a Partner of Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants. 

With more than 30 years’ corporate finance experience, Alison joined Thomas Westcott in 2017. Following roles with Ernst & Young and Clydesdale Bank, she went onto work for Armstrong Watson, where, as Corporate Finance Director and Partner, she was part of the team which managed and developed corporate finance business for the firm across Cumbria, South West Scotland, Leeds and the North East.

Having spent some of her childhood in Dorset and attended school in Bath, she chose to return to the South West to join Thomas Westcott. 

Based in our Exeter office, Alison works with directors and business owners, advising on start-ups, expansion plans and exit strategies. She has a wealth of experience of acting for both buyers and sellers in deals.

Alison said: “I am delighted to have been made a Partner of Thomas Westcott and this position allows me to be more involved in the strategic direction of the firm.

“Being in corporate finance gives me the opportunity to develop close working relationships with business owners and really get to know them and their businesses. It’s about helping them achieve their dreams and goals. Being there on that journey with them and driving projects through to completion is what I enjoy most. Corporate finance is increasingly important to the firm and our growing team has an important role to play in Thomas Westcott’s continued success.

The Corporate Finance team guides business owners through the complex process of buying or selling a business, from valuation through due diligence to completion. The team also supports businesses at key stages throughout their life cycle, including raising funds, merging and restructuring.
